5 Differences Between Home Lifts and Conventional Lifts

As the name implies, a Home Elevator is an elevator intended to be installed at home. Many factors affect conventional elevators—which are generally installed in public spaces—are not recommended to be installed at home.

Home Lift Technology

Maybe there are still many who think that an elevator must use a belt or sling as its drive system. But is this technology the best choice for the home? Or is there another elevator technology that we may not have heard of but is more suitable for home use

Lift Screwdriven

If you have never heard of screwdriven lifts, you may not be alone. Many people are not familiar with this elevator technology. This is because the elevators we most often encounter are those in malls or offices. And the majority of elevators in large public places use sling or traction technology.

Typically, people start hearing about or discovering screw-driven lifts when they begin researching for installing a lift in their home.

A screw-driven lift is a lifting technology that uses screws (steel rods) as its main drive system. The advantages of screw-driven lifts are their safety and effectiveness. Screw-driven lifts will never fall because the platform (which is connected to the drive unit) will grip the screw, making it safer.

In addition, screw-driven lifts are also much more space-efficient compared to other conventional lifts. Because they do not require a machine room or digging a pit for their installation.

Cibes House Lift has implemented a screw-driven system since 1970 until now. In addition, Cibes Lift also develops other suitable technologies for a home lift.

Cibes House Lift with 5 Glass Sides

The Cibes house lift is already equipped with a built-in shaft that can be made with 5 glass sides! Compared to concrete/aluminum, a lift with a glass shaft, especially with 5 glass sides, looks much more beautiful and luxurious.

House Lift Size Cibes

The next technology is the elevator size that can be adjusted to the void in your home. Screw-driven home elevators can be installed in sizes as small as 1x1 meter and as large as 1.5 x 1.5 meters. Cibes home elevators are available in over 41 size options that can be tailored to the needs of your home.

Self-Rescue System

The safety of elevator users is a non-negotiable value of Cibes Home Lifts. Therefore, our lifts are equipped with not just 1, 2, or 3, but 4 safety systems in 1 lift!

First, Cibes House Lift implements an Emergency Battery Lowering System where the lift is equipped with a backup battery in case of a power outage.

For more details, you can watch the video here:

Then the second is the 2N security system, where people inside the elevator can make phone calls to anyone whose number is registered. This is so that passengers inside the elevator can contact someone outside if something happens.

Third, the Cibes elevator is equipped with an automatic reset that can be easily done by simply pressing a small button located on the outside of the elevator (depending on the type of elevator).

And the last one is the laser sensor system on the Cibes cabin lift and the Safety Edge on the Cibes platform lift. The lift will automatically stop if it detects movement or pressure on both safety systems.

There are still many more profitable Screwdriven Home Lift technologies. To learn more about it, you can read it here: Screwdriven Home Lift Technology by Cibes Lift

Home Lift Construction

Because it uses a different system, the screw-driven Home Lift also requires different construction specifications to install the unit. However, the construction required is much more effective compared to the majority of other conventional lifts.

The Cibes House lift can be installed without the need to create a pit or dig a hole. Additionally, there is no need for a large machine room above the lift anymore. Best of all, the Cibes House lift is already equipped with a built-in shaft (with options for glass or aluminum).

Moreover, the lift can also be installed in existing buildings. Furthermore, if you want to dismantle the lift, it is easy to do so. It is like a portable lift that can be installed and dismantled!

Home Elevator Electricity

Cibes Home Lift consumes less electricity compared to most conventional lifts. In fact, the electricity consumption of Cibes Home Lift starts from 1800 watts when in use and only requires 10-15 watts when the lift is in idle position. This wattage is much more efficient compared to the power needs of most conventional lifts, which consume around 5,000 watts.

Meanwhile, the electricity cost itself is cheaper compared to conventional lifts. According to Cibes Lift calculations, the cost for electricity for a home lift in a year only requires around IDR 281,580 ONLY! With the following breakdown:

Shaft shaft or shaft of the Cibes home lift can be selected using aluminum or 5 GLASS SIDES. With  the Cibes infinity glass shaft, your home elevator looks more aesthetic and is also able to provide visual visual to the surroundings of the elevator when riding it.

While in conventional elevators, in addition to having to be installed on  monotonous concrete shafts, elevator doors can also only be installed with steel and not glass!

Shaft 5 Sides Glass Elevator Color Cibes House can be selected with the color you like. We have 250+ colour options including High End Powder Coats colours.

CIbes Home Lift has a variety of patterns and materials for  your back panel lift. Starting from Premium HPL, aluminum, to Bespoke Mood Wall. That way the Cibes Home Elevator can adjust beautifully to whatever the interior theme of your home is.
This may sound trivial, but lighting  in a home elevator can add aesthetic value. A home elevator with an Infinity Glass shaft is beautiful, but a home elevator with an infinity glass shaft and color-changing lighting is an amazing elevator!
The Cibes House elevator is equipped with lighting that can be adjusted through the Smart Control Panel. You can change the color of the light according to  your mood as well as the interior theme of your home.

And the Cibes home lift can operate on either 1 phase or 3 phase electricity, with 1 phase consuming 230 V and 3 phase consuming 400 V. This choice depends on the electrical conditions of your home.

Safety Home Lift

User safety and comfort are the main values for Cibes Lift, therefore we have implemented a screw-driven home lift security system without compromise!

The main security system of the screw-driven home lift is Anti-Trap, which is an easily accessible reset system to allow the lift to return to its initial mode in case of a system error. Additionally, each lift unit is equipped with an emergency battery lowering system where the lift will automatically switch to battery mode in the event of a power outage.

And for even more safety, each unit of the Cibes home lift is equipped with a phone call system where you can contact our customer care team or any registered number.

Cibes Elevator also applies European and local safety standards for the safety of using Our home elevators. This is evidenced by safety certification by  the European Lift Institute (a certification body specializing in elevators) with Safety Level Integrity 3 and ISO 9001 certifications.

Meanwhile, the safety of home elevators is also differentiated on each elevator model. Cibes House Elevator has 2 models, namely platform and cabin.

For the CIbes cabin lift security system, we implement a laser sensor located at the cabin entrance. If this laser detects any movement or object, the elevator will automatically stop. To run it again, you can simply select the floor you want to go to on the Smart Control Panel and the elevator will take you to the selected floor.

Meanwhile, for the Cibes platform elevator safety system, the Safety Edge System is applied. Where, safety bars are installed  on each side of the platform and also on top of the platform. If  the safety bar detects pressure, the elevator will automatically stop. Just like the cabin lift, to run it again you can simply select the floor you want on the Smart Control Panel.

Meanwhile, the 4th generation Cibes Home Lift (latest generation) is equipped with a passcode lock that can be easily accessed through the control panel. The Passcode Lock contains 4 letters that you can change or activate/deactivate. Much more practical but still safe!

Home Lift Aesthetics

Last but not least is the aesthetic of the Home Lift which looks more attractive compared to conventional elevators. Many factors affect the aesthetics of an elevator, ranging from shaft, pattern, color, and lighting.

Cibes Home Lift is a home elevator that can be customized starting from size, material and more according to your reference.

  1. The Infinity Glass

  1. 250+ Color Options Including High End Powder Coats

Coats High End Powder is a special and exclusive colour that only Cibes Lift has. These colors have different textures depending on the finish you choose. That way, the color alone can give a luxurious and premium impression to your home elevator.

  1. Back Panel

Those are some of the differences between home elevators and conventional elevators. Indeed, conventional elevators can be installed in a house, and many have done this. However, after knowing the home elevator with all its added value, do you still want to install a conventional elevator in your home?
